Mohonk Mountain Residence
Driving the road toward Mohonk Mountain means this family is home. Walking in the door of this stately classic farmhouse they are surrounded by subtle and familar comfort. With a mix of retail and to the trade furnishings, prieviously owned and refurbished furniture and local custom fabricated items the look is timeless and classic. The color palatte suites my clients perfectly, the fabrics and area rugs give just the right amount of color and warmth while the dark accents make the shapes and silhouettes pop. Entertaining family and friends is a common event in this household. This required an envioronment where their guests, both dinner and overnight, could feel comfortable wherever they landed.
Twin heavy linen upholstered sofas flank the traditional fireplace and sit on a hand tufted area rug with over-scale traditional motifs. The antique embroidered pillows mirror the motif in miniature. Natural linen banded Roman shades finish off the side windows where there is little room for drapery. A custom coffee table made locally is a brilliant centerpiece the closer you look. Oil rubbed bronze floor and table lamps and sconces illuminate the space with a controlled softness.

Gatherings are frequent, four comfortable leather chairs adjacent to the kitchen encourage laughter and good cheer.

Wood shades, wool sisal rug, heavy velvet sofa with linen covered chairs and over sized lamps create a cozy environment to watch a favorite movie, listen to music, or study at one of the twin desks.
